Been a while since I did this. But there is good news and sorta mixed news.
First the good news! I am almost done with cleaning up all of the regular Checkout Lane comics! That is a grand total of... 62 comics! Figure I'll be trying to go for 92 pages again. So that leaves 30 pages for extras which includes the rest of the PTK and PM first story!
That is where we get to the mixed news. I will need to start work on the 30 pages of extras. And the tablet driver has decided to become a ninja once again. So that puts a damper on finishing up the clean up.
Now... with the book slowly coming to completion, I am wondering about how to get ready for production with it. For the first one it was mostly word of mouth and via social media. Now should I do the same for the second one? Or... Dare I say go through via a crowdfunding route?
I know a lot of really good projects have gotten funded fully if not more through the websites (Shovel Knight, Undertale and Cucumber Quest to name a few) but with my inexperience of it, I'm not 100% sure.
PROS
-Would let people that can't afford to buy the book but want to support it chip in.
-People would be able to still get the book via different tiers
-If the fund goal goes over the planned pledge amount, it would allow me to have more Checkout Lane swag made! Examples -Buttons, Stickers, Mini Mandy drawing sets, etc.
CONS
-Goal would have to be met in order to be printed
-Project would still need to be pushed over social media and various sites still due to more popular projects being on crowdfunding site
-How the funds in the end are transferred to me to use for printing. Will there be a cut through taxes later on?
So there we are. If anyone has more knowledge on any crowdfunding sites and how they work, I'd love the advice!
I'll be sure to keep everyone updated!

California or Bust - But not the Bank!
I will be heading out to California at the end of the month with my best friend for a wedding! While I have all my travel methods paid for, it wouldn't hurt to have some extra money to help with gas and food. How can you help you may ask? Well I have several ways! Shop at my Square Store. That's right - I got a store! You can buy various buttons, sketch cards and even a physical copy of Checkout Lane on there. Be sure to check it out. Buy an Adoptable Character. I am giving the adoptable characters a try. I currently have four Monster Gals that I've been working on to set up for adoption this Wednesday. Payments will be via PayPal. BONUS: Just finished a sneak peek :D $10 Ink Commissions?? As much as I would like to do digital drawings, I find that I draw faster on ye old pen and paper. These can vary from chibis to 3/4 figure drawings. I will post some examples later. Spread the word!
Store site is now LIVE!!
https://amsnyder-art.square.site/ I have finally done it! I finally got together a store site! What can you get there you may ask? You can currently buy Checkout Lane: Out of the Bag, buttons I designed and sketch cards. Spread the word!
My 10 Tips to Destress
These days can feel like the stress and anxiety are getting the best of you. As being on the front lines as a cashier it feels like they can hit you harder after each shift. But what can you do to help lift some of those feelings off to ease the load of the work week? These are 10 things that I try do to help bring my spirits up through these tough times.
1. TREAT YOURSELF! It doesn't have to be anything crazy but something to give yourself to look forward to getting. See a cute enamel pin on Etsy? Treat yourself! Craving a favorite food that you don't have everyday? Treat yourself! Been wanting a book? Treat yourself! Want to commission you

Well, the benefits of something like Kickstarter is that it's a proven platform, and one frequently used. So therefore your chances of being found on there are a bit higher. Plus, having rewards for backers (while putting more pressure on you as a creator) can give more of a motivation to push forward with things.
All that being said, a lot of people are wary of giving their money to a Kickstarter, since there are a lot of stories of people being scammed or getting a product that wasn't as good as they were promised (*cough*, Mighty No.9, *cough*). So, I'd say proceed with caution if you decide to go for it, and keep your backers as up to date as possible.
